CORE COURSES

This UE Core 2 Processing and Managing data is organized in three parts with the aim of mastering the basic tools for data analysis, processing and management, particularly with regard to :

• acquisition, processing and analysis of signals and images ;
  Hervé CARFANTAN will give an introductory course on signal processing that will introduce the basic concepts for understanding the acquisition, processing and analysis of digital signals and images.
  

• machine learning;
  Mathieu FAUVEL will give an introductory course on machine learning (in the sense of the ability of an algorithm to extract knowledge from data) in order to develop the skills needed to define a machine learning pipeline, evaluate the quality of a predictive model, compare models and implement them using Python.
  

• databases and geographic information systems (GIS).
  Yves Auda will give an introductory course on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) which will provide the theoretical basis for the use of GIS by presenting vector and raster models, OGC standards and spatial SQL in a simple way.
